Our friends Jubran and Lisa hosted an Easter egg hunt at their house this year, and we decided on the spot they need to host it every year! They raised the bar really high: each kid was given a certain colored bucket and was instructed to find the eggs that matched the bucket, using the color-coded map! Zach looked high and low trying to find all his blue eggs, while Charlie was on the hunt for the orange ones...
As we were eating dinner, I had to comment on how far we've all come. 7 of the 8 kids (the exception was the lovely Violet) were sitting at one table eating their yummy barbecued meal while we adults sat at a different table. And everybody actually ate, without us hovering and trying to get them to sit, stop poking each other, etc. The older they get, the better they entertain each other, so these get-togethers are getting easier and therefore more fun for all!
