Goodbyes

Scott's parents left this morning, after being here for almost two weeks. It's going to be very odd for it to just be us again, especially just Zach and me during the weekdays. Zach has definitely adjusted to having extra people around to give him lots of love and attention, as well as being on the go - the other morning he went to the door with his shoes in his hand and said "go?" We've had lots of fun adventures with G&G Willard the last couple weeks!

Besides being sad to say goodbye to them, at the same time we waved adios to the convertible, as Scott's dad drove off in it. Scott had been mulling over selling the car for a while now, so when his dad expressed interest, it was kind of a no-brainer. I was surprised that I was a little sad to see it go, especially since I've hardly been in it the last year or so. Just lots of good-byes, I guess.

But on the bright side, we'll see the Willards again in a few weeks. And, my parents are back in Hudson for a few days, so Zach will get to see his other grandparents again. While Alan and Teri were here, he learned to say grandma and grandpa, instead of the "ga" he managed with my parents. We also discovered he can say and do some other things we didn't know; he made a hilarious face when we asked him to smile for the camera, and could identify and say "triangle" when playing with some of his shapes. Who knew? It's amazing how much he's learned in the past month or so.

Smiley guy; hugging his "friends", getting tired (check out the surfer hair!)

Back to the subject of goodbyes, I should update you on Scott and Alan's trip to New York. While there, they got to say goodbye to Yankee Stadium, when they saw the Twins play their last two games in that hallowed ballpark. The Twins didn't manage to stop the Yankees at home, but the guys had a great time anyway. We thought we'd get to see them on tv, as they had seats in the front row in right field (supposedly "home run alley") at Yankee Stadium, but they didn't get their 15 minutes that day. They also bid adieu to Shea Stadium, seeing three Mets games. Yes, they went out to New York and saw 5 baseball games in 5 days! Besides all those ball games, they did quite a bit of walking, just seeing sights they hadn't seen in a while. Scott even took a few pictures with our old camera, which I'll get posted out here one of these days...
